What is a Water Cooling Tower?

Water cooling towers are machines that allow air and water to exchange heat with each other in order to lower the temperature of the water coming from the process, and then send the cooled water back to the process. This process is continuously dragged from the process to the tower and then from the tower to the process during the demand period.

To explain in detail, the water from the process is pumped to the water cooling tower via pipes. Then, thanks to the pipes in the tower and the nozzles attached to the pipes, the water is evenly sprayed onto the filling surfaces in the tower. Subsequently, the water is divided into minimum particles by contacting the filling surfaces. On the other hand, the engine working on the tower rotates the fan and sends the air it has absorbed from the louvers through the tower and back to the atmosphere through the chimneys. As a result, the water comes into contact with the air and a small amount of water evaporates and the water cools.

Thus, the cooled water is poured into the pool and pumped to be sent to the process.

Water cooling tower is generally used in most industrial establishments. It is found in power plants, oil refineries, petrochemical plants, natural gas processing plants, food processing plants, pharmaceutical industry, metal casting plants, paper industry, steel mills, cement plants, sugar mills and other industrial plants. The aim is to reduce the high heat from the process.

With the increasing population rate all over the world, the world’s need for the products produced has increased and for this reason, there has been a great increase in the need rate. Therefore, the industrial sector was forced to produce more products every day, which meant more production, more machinery. Therefore, the need for more cooling arose. These machines generally required constant cooling in order to continue producing efficiently.
